Saturday Schedule
Carla Oja shows off freshly-cooked aebleskiver, while Jean-Marc Bourguoin serves customers at the booth.
We are gearing up for the kick-off of the 2025 Astoria Scandinavian Midsummer Festival!! We had record-making patronage at our popular food booth in 2023 and 2024, and this year will likely be even more popular.
Volunteers help us set up, prepare, and serve traditional foods. We literally cannot have this midsummer celebration without your help. Now is the time to pick one or more your preferred 2025 shifts. Most shifts are two hours long; you may sign up for as many shifts as you like. We ask volunteers to please report to the Booth five minutes before your shift begins for the shift transition.
We also have sign-ups for booth setup on Wednesday 18 June and booth breakdown on Sunday 22 June.
We have booth instructions, so if you would like a copy just email us at lowercolumbiadanes@gmail.com and we will be happy to provide information to you.
If you have or are interested in obtaining an Oregon Food Handlers’ License, then you can serve as a “Køkken Jarl” - a kitchen leader to help coordinate the booth for a whole or half day. We would like to have 3 or 4 responsible adults to serve in this capacity - if you are a professional food service person, then please consider using your expertise to help us out as the Oregon Health Department requires that each shift have a licensed person in charge.
Sign-up lists will be updated every few days during May and June to show which shifts still have open slots.
BOOTH LOCATION: We are located at the southwest corner of the Festival Arena, at the end of the first row of booths when you walk into the Arena (to your left as you enter).

NOTE: We will put your FIRST NAME and LAST INITIAL on the schedule, unless you don’t want your name to appear on the website. In that case, please let us know and we will just mark the shift as “filled” on the website.
Friday Schedule
NOTE: we do not make or serve aebleskiver on Friday afternoon or evening.
GRAY BOXES indicate times when we do not necessarily need someone in that slot.
Sunday Schedule
Clean up on Sunday usually takes less than two hours if we have enough people after the booths close at 2 pm.
Festival Sign-up occurs during May and June. If you are visiting this webpage during other months, then you will only see inactive “sample” sign-up sheets without any shifts filled.
