Every year on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving, all the Nordic lodges get together to kick off the Christmas season with a community celebration of Sankta Lucia. There is the traditional candlelight Sankta Lucia procession, as well as dancing, singing, and the formal introduction of the new Scandinavian Festival Court to the audience.

Please join all of the lower Columbia region’s Nordic communities - Danes, Finns, Icelanders, Norwegians, and Swedes - in this very family-friendly event. Live music and light refreshments are served after the program, with space to sit at tables to visit as well as space to dance around the Christmas tree.

Admission is typically $1 per person or $5 per family and all proceeds supports scholarships for the Astoria Scandinavian Midsummer Festival.
