Join us for a Danish Potluck!!! Prepare a favorite from your own family traditions or try your hand at something new. A Google search on “Danish Recipes” can provide options if you have no Nordic cookbooks. During October we also typically pick a date for our Jul Parti (Christmas Party) and ask for people willing to serve on the Jul Committee (Christmas Committee). If you want to get a “back of the house” experience in what it is like to organize and host a party for 80 people, then ask to serve on the Jul Committee - many hands make for light work!

The Danish Society will also be HOSTING LUCIA FESTIVAL on Friday 29 November, so consider getting volunteering to help set up for that event in the morning, serve Nordic snacks and holiday punch to festival-goers in the early evening, or clean-up after the dancing and music are done. Lucia is a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season in Astoria.
