Prior to our meeting we will all be viewing an Icelandic documentary titled “The School of Housewives.” This film tells the story of a still-running school that teaches skills needed to live as an adult head of the home - cooking, sewing, clothing repair, harvesting, among others. Then, our own member Jeannette Davis will tell us how the film’s depiction of the modern school compares with her own experience at the same school in the 1960s, and we will all discuss the film.
Marie Yost arranged for a free, private viewing on VIMEO - here is the information:

The film is available for viewing through 07 October 2021. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about Nordic culture. There is unexpected insight here on the human condition.
