Prior to our meeting in March, we will all be reading the 1958 short story “Babette’s Feast” by Danish author Isak Dinesen (also famous in the USA for her memoir of her time in Kenya, “Out of Africa”) and then we will discuss the story and a little of the historical time in which it is set at our March meeting. If you have the privilege of attending our meeting where we discussed the film “Ordet,” then you know the discussion facilitated by our own Doreen Simonsen will be extremely rewarding.

If you have not read this story, it is a wondeful, uplifting read especially in the dead of winter.
