One of the most anticipated family-friendly events in our Danish Society calendar, the annual Christmas party has something for people of all ages.
The hall, tree, and tables are adorned with traditional paper decorations for a festive pot-luck dinner centered around roast pork with gravy, red cabbage, mashed potatoes, medisterpølse (a traditional Danish onion sausage), and risalamande (a sweet rice pudding dessert) provided by the Lower Columbia Danish Society. Attendees are asked to bring an appetizer, salad, main dish, or dessert to share (family recipes especially encouraged) so we are sure no one goes away hungry and everyone gets to try a variety of food. Non-alcoholic beverages and place settings are provided.
There will be live Christmas music, dancing around the tree, stories, and a visit from jolly old St. Nick.
The venue at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Auditorium is wheel-chair friendly with a ramp to the bathroom and a loading-unloading area immediately outside of the entryway at 14th and Grand.
