We will play a game of bingo, expertly called in Danish by our own Ove Rasmussen. The grand prize will be a duck that you can prepare for dinner on St. Martin’s Day on November 11th.
This is a Danish tradition that was shared with us by our longtime member Jorgen Madsen ; the bingo and the duck dinner were traditions in his Danish hometown!
If you want to know why Dane’s celebrate this occasion with a roast duck or goose, then please join us as we re-tell the tale of how Mortensaften became associated with serving waterfowl for dinner.
